Ep. 24: Nina Turner delivers speech for the People’s Party

Former Ohio state senator and former national co-chair of Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign Nina Turner delivers a powerful speech at the People’s Party convention on Sun., Aug. 30.

The movement People’s Party was led by National Direction Nick Brana following his work on Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign. The movement held its first convention on Aug. 30 and held a virtual vote to form a new political party in the U.S. The convention hosted other keynote speakers including Dr. Cornel West, former presidential candidate Marianne Williamson, and former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura.

The People’s Party will not have a candidate for the 2020 election, but Turner’s speech speaks and delivers to the moment for the need for the people to get to work in this century’s revolution. Founding editor Aja Arnold shares her thoughts and additional context prior to the full speech, recorded by phone in Atlanta, Ga.
